  • To debate whether or not Green Day truly was or is a punk band in the purest definition of the punk ethic now seems irrelevant. If nothing else, they're a pop band who can't seem to help but write good songs--in the case of WARNING, some really good songs. This album makes up for any missteps the band may have taken since the fluke success of DOOKIE.
  • From the Katrina And The Waves groove of "Castaway" to the Beatles-esque harmonica on "Hold On," WARNING inspires a sense of musical deja vu that never crosses the line into out-and-out thievery. Hands-down, the most interesting track here is "Misery," which struts along with Doors-like quirkiness and goes through a progression of cultural movements that take instrumental turns in the form of deep strings, mariachi brass, and acoustic guitar melodies. If there's a warning to be found here, it's that Green Day has become a real band. Not very punk of them, but promising all the same.

Warning crap album alert. Green Day boring mainstream garbage that for some reason is misconstrued as punk. Pop punk esque rock perhaps. Maybe it was the whiny, nasaly vocal of lead man Billie Joe Armstrong was the connection with punk as that seems to be the seal the deal for many wanting to categorise punk. Minority seems to be a fave for those who reviewed previously, this track just highlights the annoying whining nasal vocals and dreary guitar and drumming efforts.

green day on here is rather different to the green day that most of the world knows, as it is less mass produced and more under ground. the songs on here are just as good though, if not better, with hits such as "Minority" and "Fashion Victim" both of which are standouts on here. a must own for green day fans.

One of Green Days earlier work, and is realy different to their stuff released now. This is the beginning of their commercial phase, and they had a smash hit with the song "Minority" which is still popular today. This is a good buy for fans of the band, but for new fans I would probably recommend Dookie over this CD.

This is when Green Day begun to really go mainstream...and this is where I began to lose interest in the songs and began to like the music more. The only song from the album that speaks to me is Minority, truely and classic, it goes down next to The Living End's Prisoner Of Society.
