A triple bill of true-story movies. 'When He's Not a Stranger' is a film which challenges the questions raised in the media and public eye over 'date rape'. Lyn (Annabeth Gish), an undergraduate at a California university, arranges to meet Melanie, her best friend, in the dorm of Melanie's boyfriend Ron. However Melanie is not there and Ron takes advantage of the situation, forcing himself on Lyn and raping her. Initially Lyn decides to forget the whole episode (she knew the rapist, did she ask for it?) but then decides to seek legal recourse. This brings pressures not only from the university but also from her best friend... In 'Little Girl Lost' four-year-old Tella is a well-adjusted girl until the courts return her to her natural father, who then abuses her. Clara (Tess Harper) and Tim Brady (Frederic Forrest), Tella's foster parents, fight to get her back, but come up against the unsympathetic welfare system. Whilst 'Making a Case for Murder' is a made for TV movie which follows the case of three black men who run into trouble when their car breaks down in a middle-class area of New York and they seek refuge in a small local restaurant. The events and courtroom drama which followed reverberated throughout America.
