This story is generally well regarded by Doctor Who fans, but I suspect this is due to a combination of the big return and jazzy new look of the Cybermen, and the crowd-pleasing finale. Taken on its own terms, the story is a string of individual occurences that don't make a whole lot of sense when run together - just try to figure out exactly what the Cybermen's plan is at any given minute. And the dialogue is appalling. Bear in mind that this was written by the guy who script edited Peter Davison's and Colin Baker's stories, and it explains a lot. Certainly not as good as it thinks it is.
