The show follows Irish woman Sharon and American man Rob who make a bloody mess as they struggle to fall in love in London. Clumsy lust, instant pregnancy, and genuine disaster provide the foundation for this flaming hovel of a relationship.

Season three re-joins the couple and their two children as they face further challenges of infidelity, financial difficulty and a family bereavement. A surprise dinner invitation from estranged couple Fran (Ashley Jensen) and Chris (Mark Bonnar) and a visit from Rob's utterly irrepressible mum, Mia (Carrie Fisher) continue to keep life anything but simple, with all roads leading to a dramatic season finale.
