Collection of three epic historical - and prehistorical - adventures. '300' (2007) is adapted from the graphic novel by Frank Miller and is a modern retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 B.C., when the 100,000 strong invading Persian Army of King Xerxes was held back in a narrow mountain pass by 300 Spartans. King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) is given four days by Persia's King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) to lay down his arms and surrender. Leonidas rejects the proposal and battle ensues. The Spartans are only defeated by the treachery of a local shepherd, Ephialtes (Andrew Tiernan), who shows the Persians a secret route, enabling them to outflank their opponents. In 'Beowulf' (2007), after destroying the overpowering demon Grendel (Crispin Glover), the mighty warrior Beowulf (Ray Winstone) incurs the undying wrath of the beast's ruthlessly seductive mother (Angelina Jolie), who will use any means possible to ensure revenge. The ensuing epic battle resonates throughout the ages, immortalising the name of Beowulf. Finally, in '10,000 B.C.' (2008), in a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter D'Leh (Steven Strait) has met the woman of his dreams, the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle). But when a band of mysterious warlords raid his village and kidnap Evolet, D'Leh must lead a small group of hunters to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. As they venture into unknown lands for the first time, the hunters discover there are civilisations beyond their own and that mankind's reach is far greater than they ever knew.
