About the Author

Rachel Caine is the author of more than twenty novels, including the "Weather Warden" series. She was born at White Sands Missile Range, which people who know her say explains a lot. She has been an accountant, a professional musician, and an insurance investigator, and still carries on a secret identity in the corporate world. She and her husband, fantasy artist R. Cat Conrad, live in Texas with their iguanas, Popeye and Darwin; a mali uromastyx named (appropriately) O’Malley; and a leopard tortoise named Shelley (for the poet, of course).

Caine continues this incredible series with more surprises and her wonderful character development. She creates suspense and drama like few others and always manages to end each book in the series at a climax - leaving the reader holding their breath until the next release. In true Caine style we continue to discover more about the world she has created. While not the absolute best world-building author she comes very close. You feel immersed but without the forced narration of some authors - you discover information as the characters do so you never feel ahead or behind the storyline. Character development is Caine's forte and again she doesn't disappoint. While there are rarely any heaven shifting character revelations from Caine she manages to slip in continual surprises, not matter how small, without making them feel unnatural. She is one of the best 'organic' character developers there is. And the sex/love aspect of Caine's writing is always welcome - it is always incredibly real and intense without ever shifting into over-written or tacky romance. This continues to be one of my all-time favourite series and certainly my second favourite in the vampire genre. Fans of Morganville are also likely to enjoy Caine's other, highly original, Weather Warden series.

The fifth book to the morganville vampire series. I enjoy this series alot and can't wait for the next book to come out all of the books have really dramatic or exciting endings so you want to read the book that comes after it as soon as possible. Great for people that are into vampires and the supernatural. There's nothing normal about morganville, thats for sure.
