About the Author

Historical fiction author Suellen Ocean has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sonoma State University in California. The former radio personality has a "knack for storytelling and for making characters come alive." She bases her novels on people who've suffered injustices. 'The Lies of the Lion' is the story of post-Inquisitional Jews in Amsterdam who built communities while pretending they were Christians. 'The Celtic Prince' is about the evolution of people away from their native Judaic roots. 'Gold River' is about a struggle for Native Americans to preserve ancient burial grounds and 'Gone North' is about dark situations that arise when young people gravitate toward a tiny community in the mountains not far from the ocean. When she's not working on historical novels, Suellen is caring for her organic garden and cooking gourmet foods, vegetarian style. Although always living in the western United States, she's had the opportunity to travel to England, France, Holland and Israel. Suellen Ocean makes her home in California.
