This medium level reader say the sound is excellent for teaching your child to read, my 3 and a half year old loves the series and can read most of them by herself already. Using sight words and realistic pictures really helps provide clues for the words. I found that reading the book every night for a week had very good results and she got such a feeling of accomplishment from 'reading herself'.
