This book is large and with larger text and a bit heavy when compared to the books when they are separated. So if you like reading larger book then get these two novels combined into one volume. I like reading on my bed/lying down, so the downside to this larger book is that its a bit heavy and you cannot fold the book in half like you can when the novel is by itself. About the story, this is the best sci fi book i have read! None other come this close, even other novels that have also won awards. Its full of action and suspense and really allows you imagination to flourish. If you like sci fi, you have to read these novels!

It's very handy having this omnibus edition of "Hyperion" and "The Fall of Hyperion" around because these two novels really do belong together between the covers of the same book, as they are essentially one novel. And a quite entertaining, imaginative story it is too, with lots of new technology and thousands of extra years of history to deal with. Knowledge of the work of the poet Keats is not essential, but if you do know a bit of his work, then it's all the more fun. A great SF achievement.
