"This fine book starts with basic learning for the earliest of
learners, and then on to a little more advanced work for children
who are ready for their letters. Each chapter introduction explains
the purpose of the chapter, along with tips to help the work go
better. The entire first chapter is a skill and confidence builder,
which means that there are also physical changes in a child's
growing brain that benefit from the repetitions and practice.
Wonderful! The second section, and by far the longest, is for
children who are a little bit older, and it provides training and
helpful repetition for learning the alphabet. Pictures are included
for kids to practice their newly learned letters. It's a nice
package of activities. The short, third and final section gives
kids a chance to practice what they have learned using simple
objects from which words can be made. The entire book reveals an
author who understands how children learn, and his techniques
provides the basics of learning to write and read, old school and
new. It's great for home-schoolers, as well as kids who are in
