Sergeant Bett Smythe and Lieutenant Gale Rains are building a life together, despite the risks in the tightly closeted world of the Women's Army Corps. When another couple, Captain Kathleen Hartley and Lieutenant Victoria Whitman, invite Bett and Rain to a dinner party, they're introduced to the lesbian underground on the base. Kat and Whit have had a turbulent relationship, and as a budding friendship deepens, Kat's attraction to Rain threatens both couples' futures. When Whit's friend is accused of sexually assaulting a recruit, the ensuing investigation impacts them all, professionally and personally. As the Battle of the Bulge rages overseas, the bounds of love and friendship are tested. Whit will do almost anything to preserve what she has with Kat, but who is the real threat? And can Bett protect her relationship from the very real dangers close to heart and home?

Jaycie Morrison recently made the move to Colorado, trading the heat of her lifetime big city home of Dallas, Texas, for the cool beauty of the mountains in a small town. She lives with her wife of several decades and whatever wild creatures visit them from the forest. Her first three novels-Basic Training of the Heart, Heart's Orders, and Guarding Hearts-make up the Love and Courage series. Set during World War II, they combine Jaycie's love of the written word and of history. The Found Jar is her first contemporary romance. When not writing or reading, Jaycie may be hiking, traveling, experimenting with gluten free cooking, or pretending to be a rock star.

About the Author

Jaycie Morrison is a second generation native Dallasite who is also in love with Colorado and now splits her time between the two. She lives with her wife of over two decades and their spoiled dog. As a youngster, she and her friends entertained themselves making up and acting out stories featuring characters from popular TV shows or favorite bands-lots of action and a little romance even then! A voracious reader, she always wondered what it would be like to write a book and found that once she started, it was almost impossible to stop. Her Love and Courage series combines her appreciation of the written word and her interest in history.
