HILARIOUS!! would be one word to sum up this book. It was so entertaining it had me in fits of laughter most of the time, other times my heart retched for the characters in the story. It was the characters that made this story so awesome. They were fun, quirky and unique. Riley Rose the protagonist was a bad girl, atheist whose inner narrative was comedic and entertaining. She is such an entertaining character that I liked her immediately. After her mother died of cancer a few years earlier and getting into a bit of trouble with her best friend, she is shipped off to a religious camp by her father and step-mother. Dylan is a boy who had an ‘accident’ and ended up in a wheel-chair. He is dark, mysterious and witty. It is as much his story as it is Riley’s. He is still coming to terms with his accident. The last thing Riley expects is to have a connection with him. The story is about finding yourself and loving yourself for who you are. Also about accepting people for who they are and not judging them on face value. A playful, cheeky, hilarious, heart-retching and fun read. Highly recommended.
