John Hankiewicz was born in Chicago in 1971. He is a cartoonist and printmaker who has contributed to a number of comics anthologies, including Bomb Time for Bonzo, Ink Brick, and Mome. His solo comics are Tepid, Asthma, and Education. Hankiewicz received an MFA in printmaking from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 2014 and currently teaches drawing there.
Hankiewicz seems to relish his playing with text and image, and
delightfully recontextualizing images, just like playing
improvisational jazz. There is plenty of connective tissue here
