About the Author

SIMON SHEPHERD is Professor of Theatre and Deputy Principal (Academic) at the Central School of Speech and Drama, UK. He has published on the cultural history of, and concepts about, theatre and its practices since 1981. His works include The Cambridge Introduction to Modern British Theatre (2010), Performance Research 14.2 'On Training' (2009), Theatre, Body and Pleasure (2006) and Drama/Theatre/Performance (with Mick Wallis) (2004).
