This book deals with the agronomy of the eight major grain, fiber and oilseed row crops produced in the United States: Corn, Wheat, Grain Sorghum, Barley, Rice, Cotton, Soybeans, and Peanuts. For each crop, Dr. Smith presents a structured discussion of: the types of cultivars, the history of the crop, its uses and processing, a detailed discussion of how to plant and grow the crop, the pests and problems involved, and the harvesting, grading and marketing practices.
Lynnfred Smith is a new author who is fascinated with history and science fiction. In 2019, while working for a well-known airline, Lynnfred found himself drawn to write books because of significant present day events which affects our lives daily. He wrote the book Narratives: The Continuing Generational Pandemic in August 2020 to introduce the public to the Ma'riine 4 book series beginning with his new novel Ma'riine: Extinction Level Event 6 (The Medusa Syndrome).

C. Wayne Smith is an associate professor and director of the Archaeological Preservation Research Laboratory - APRL . He holds the INA Faculty Fellowship. Working as a conservator, he specializes in the preservation of organic artifacts using silicone oils, resins, and other polymers. Archaeological Conservation Using Polymers, his most recent work published by Texas A&M University Press, discusses practical applications for the stabilization of organic artifacts. Since 1981, he has participated in survey and shipwreck assessment in the Great Lakes and participated as a student and research assistant in excavations at Port Royal, Jamaica. Working in conjunction with Donny L. Hamilton of Texas A&M University and Dow Corning Corporation of Midland, Michigan, he has developed and patented new conservation strategies and industrial applications. He also participates in numerous joint international research projects.
