About the Author

Caroline Williams is Company Director of User FriendlyPsychiatry Ltd and a Programme Director and Clinical Tutor atLancaster University. She was previously Assertive Outreach Managerat Five Borough Partnership NHS Trust, Warrington, Merseyside andhas provided consultancy and training to Assertive Outreach teamsin England and Wales. Caroline was also a National Steering GroupMember of the National Forum for Assertive Outreach. Mike Firn is Clinical Service Development Lead at SouthWest London & St. George s Mental Health NHS Trust. He isalso Chair of the National Forum for Assertive Outreach. Simon Wharne is the South East Regional Representativefor the National Forum for Assertive Outreach and Team Leader forthe Hastings and Rother Outreach Team. Dr Rob Macpherson is Consultant Psychiatrist inrehabilitation and assertive outreach, based at Wotton LawnHospital, Gloucester. He is also Training Programme Director forgeneral adult psychiatry, Severn Deanery.
