About the Author

Nathaniel Robert "Bob" Winters was born in Brooklyn in 1950 and grew up in suburban Long Island N.Y. After serving in the Navy he fell in love with Northern California and made it his home. He graduated from Sonoma State University and achieved a Masters in Education from C.S.U. Stanislaus. He enjoyed the opportunity to be a high school history and science teacher in Turlock for 33 years. An avid skier and tennis player, he also coached baseball and soccer. He currently lives in Saint Helena, a small town in the wine growing region of the Napa Valley with his wife, son and dog. Bob has an affinity for nature and loves to travel. His family has hosted foreign exchange students from France, the Czech Republic and Russia.
